Greeting NFBO members it has been a very long summer and I would bet that
the rest of the year will fly by. We have been working on the web page and
getting it ready for our state convention. You can read the information that
Rachel put together at the end of this message which should give you an
tremendous amount of information. You should call the hotel now to reserve
your room and start planning to attend this convention. I promise you if you
bring yourself and encourage others we will lift up the federation spirit in
Columbus I will be sending out convention assistance information shortly.

The National Federation of the Blind of Ohio invites you to join us for our
71st annual state convention to be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in
Columbus, Ohio. As Ohio's oldest organization comprised of blind people
working together to change what it means to be blind, our convention will
inspire, empower, and celebrate our accomplishments. Join us to learn more
about issues confronting blind people today, and walk away ready to advocate
for change.

Hotel Information
Reserve your room at the DoubleTree by calling 614-885-3334 and provide them
with the group code "National Federation of the Blind." The room rate is
$89.00 plus tax per night for a room with a king bed (sleeps 2 adults) or a
room with 2 double beds (sleeps 4 adults). Act now to reserve your room.
This rate is good through October 6 or until all rooms in our block are
reserved. Room reservations may be cancelled without penalty up to 24 hours
prior to your check-in date.
Agenda
Our 71st annual convention entitled "The Dream Convention - Transforming
Dreams into Reality" will showcase inspirational stories about the work of
our movement, history, and philosophy. The complete agenda will be available
prior to convention. In the meantime, here are a few convention highlights:
. Shawn M. Callaway, President of NFB of the District of Columbia and Chair
of the 2017 NFB Convention Host Committee, will deliver the keynote address
at our Banquet.
. Network with blind people from all parts of the country
. Attend Workshops designed to promote leadership, membership building, and
successful employment strategies.
. Visit Exhibit Hall to explore the latest technology and low-vision
products.
Exhibitors
Exhibit Hall will be open to shoppers and information gatherers on Sat.
,Oct. 28th ,from noon to 5:00 PM. Space is limited and all exhibitors are

Enhance your convention experience through volunteer work. Please consider
donating a couple of hours of your time while in attendance at convention. A
