[Ohio-talk] I got a job!

OK. Please let me know if there is anything you need. I found that
transportation was the most frustrating and difficult part of the job
placement process for me and needed to be handled most discretely. Have you
considered seeing if a VR consumer out of the Beckett Ridge office at OOD
could serve as a driver. I think Crystal is the rehab sup out there but
don't hold me to it. Please keep me posted, and again, congratulations.

Chris

Hi Chris, thank you very much. I am still working out my transportation.

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want;
blindness is not what holds you back.

Sheri. First of all, congratulations on the wonderful job offer. I hope
things go well on this job, as sometimes I've found that the first 90 days
or so of a new job are the hardest. I noticed the position is in Hamilton.
May I ask what kind of transportation arrangements you have? Please let me
know if there is anything you need support with, and again, Congratulations!
Hope to see you tomorrow at the Christmas Party.

Very Best Regards,

Chris

Hello Everybody,

In the seven and a half months since graduating from UC, I have had
bi-weekly meetings with my job developer, filled out countless online
applications and cover letters, and I have had only 7 interviews. I was
really beginning to get discouraged. Thanks to all of you who told me to
keep the faith, and hang in there! Yesterday, I had an interview for an AOD
Counselor position, and it seemed to go really well, as I thought the others
did, but this time, something different happened. I received a call with a
job offer, while on the way home in the car! Beginning December 18, I will
be working for Community Behavioral Health in Hamilton, OH.
