Good evening NFBO,

The Community and Family Advancement Committee has unanimously passed HB
309, our Parental Rights Bill! Our first step to making this an Ohio law has
now been taken, and we can all take a minute to reflect on this moment.
Richard has asked us for personal stories of our experiences of past
Washington Seminars, and on this year's Columbus Seminar. Well, for all of
you that had a part in making the passage of this committee vote possible,
whether it was presenting the bill to our Representatives in May, appearing
to testify at the hearings, submitting written testimony to the committee or
even making it possible for other members to attend, you can feel proud to
be a Federerationist, and an advocate for all blind Ohioans!

Best Regards,

Sheri Albers, Vice President

National Federation of the Blind of Ohio

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want;
blindness is not what holds you back.
