Hello Ohio Federationist,
For anyone that is coming to Cincinnati for the Flying Pig event, the
Cincinnati chapter recreation committee will be hosting a National
Underground Railroad Freedom Center Tour.
Details:
. Tour date/time: Saturday, May 6th from 1 to 3:00 PM
. Cost: Ages 3 to 12 ($7) and ages 13 and up ($12)
. Group booking: Need payment and final numbers two weeks in
advance; a group is generally defined as 15 or more people; however, our
group is not being held to this restriction
. Tour mobility: the majority of the tour includes walking;
however, there are benches throughout the museum that can be utilized by our
group during the tour. In addition, there are four wheelchairs that can be
used on a first come, first serve basis.
. Lunch: The NURFC does not have a restaurant; therefore, if we
plan to eat at the NURFC, food can be brought in as there is an area where
the group can eat. This lunch area must be requested at the time our
reservation is made (payment and numbers turned in)
. Tour accessibility: Event Coordinator (verbally) assured me there
is pre-recorded information and that the rest of the tour would be handled
with narration by a tour guide(s)
The cost of your ticket must be paid by April 20. Please RSVP by calling
Annie McEachirn Carson, Cincinnati Recreation committee Chair person at 5 1
3/5 2 1-1 2 3 0 (home) or 9 1 9/6 0 2-9 2 9 9 (mobile).
This event takes place the day prior to the flying Pig marathon where many
of us will be at the Best Little Tissue (BLT) station. We certainly
encourage your participation at the Flying Pig marathon as well as joining
the Cincinnati chapter on this historical/educational tour.
Sincerely,
Annie Carson
