The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want;
blindness is not what holds you back

Subject: [Ohio-talk] Conventions in October

 Hi Everyone,
Dudley attended his first Convention with me a week after we got married
October 16-19.
Another convention in October I wore sandals because the weather was so
nice. On Sunday I was wearing sandals in the snow. You guessed it, I didn't
have another pair of shoes with me.
I always find it hard to go home and unwind. I usually wish I had someone to
talk to about the Convention but that hasn't happened since Helen Johnson
was alive.
If anyone is having trouble falling asleep and wants to share with someone
after Convention call me.
Usually I feel so uplifted although there have been a couple Conventions in
which this wasn't the case.
I am seeing so much excitement this year that I think it will be a great
Convention.
My Service Animal of Choice (a cat) would be so afraid at the Convention.
I will just have to pet her when I get home.
Be sure to bring braille paper, slates and styluses etc.
The At Large Chapter will be having a Split the Pot Raffle.
Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5.
See you all in nine or ten days depending on when you get to Columbus.
Colleen Roth
