The seniors division is beginning a series of monthly phone gatherings for those new to blindness and needing information, tips, and resources. Presidents, you know who these folks are in your chapter or division. We are counting on you to let them know about this opportunity. The first call will be March 18 at 7:00. We are going to try to keep it to an hour. This is not limited to seniors. We do encourage those struggling with vision dependency or perplexed about how to do things nonvisually to call in. We see mentoring opportunities down the road, but for now we are just going to talk and listen. The emphasis will be on solving problems and moving toward positive attitudes. This will not work, however, without your support. Make announcements in your meetings. Call members for whom this call would be a good idea and urge them to plan to be present. Help them with managing the phone number and access code. We will plan to meet once a month. Please help us. The number is 712-775-7031, and the access code is 240281423. If you want to help, join the call.

Thanks,
Barbara

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want; blindness is not what holds you back.
