Debbie Baker and I are busy interviewing all of the people who applied to
be Braille mentors. It is amazing how many highly qualified people applied
to be mentors. That speaks highly of people who are blind in the state of
Ohio. At this time we have received applications from 12 potential
students. I was worried we would have trouble finding students. Now, it is
everyone's turn to participate. Remember, OAPUB is awarding $25.00 cash for
the best essay, poem, story... about how Braille has changed your life or
why it is important to you. Our students need to hear your words so they
will stay focused on learning Braille. You can send your entry into the
competition to me. My e-mail is marianne at denningweb.com or you can mail it
to me at Marianne Denning, 835 Carini Lane, Cincinnati, OH 45218. Please
help spread the word to people you know because this is open to all Braille
readers 14 and older in Ohio.
