Hi Deborah,

Yes, I agree with you about the offensive language. These guys want you to think that the Dintech Cane is your only friend and that you can't do without it because you'll feel lonely. I don't know how this device will play out, but I wouldn't be surprised if it appeared at the NFB national convention's exhibit hall.

No, there's no New York airport. There's Kennedy and LaGuardia, and I don't think the dintech cane has a feature that allows you to tread water across the big pond. Let's just say that the intention of this company is to better the lives of the blind, but, as many others that have tried in the past, they need some education to erase the ignorance.

I post items from the NFB of New Jersey's Technology List just for everyone's edification, even though I might not agree with the philosophy of the manufacturer.

By the way, if anyone is looking for some classes on using iPhones, iPads or other devices, Mystic Access has free training, both free or paid. It pays to sign up. I did!

However, since we can't get away from technology, I thought you might like to know that the Dentech cane exists. I don't agree with its use and its claims. We are the best judges of our surroundings, and we control our environment with the knowledge and wisdom imparted to us from experience. No amount of technology can ever replace that.
