Yes, If you have the name of the list that you would like to join, just send a message to it with the subject line "subscribe". I am not familiar with the situation you mentioned about the long address of the list. Dave Andrews would be a better person to answer that question.

Walter, does your message mean that to join this list one would write to ohio-talk at nfbnet.org with subscribe in the subject line? I am always confused because there seems to be a long version of the name that has “discussion” in the title.
