Good Morning NFB of Ohio,
On Monday, the NFB of Cincinnati celebrated White Cane Awareness Day and
Meet the Blind Month in downtown Cincinnati. We met at City Hall and had
Vice Mayor Christopher Smitherman read our two proclamations, while I spoke
on the history behind the event. We then did our annual White Cane Walk to
Fountain Square, where we had a Meet-And-Greet with the public to hand out
literature, and broke out into dance, led by Clovernook Center for the Blind
and Visually Impaired. It was a beautiful day in the Nati! Thank you to all
who participated.

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want;
blindness is not what holds you back.
