[Ohio-talk] Two Things from the SRC Meeting Today

Dear NFB of Ohio Family, Friends, and Colleagues,

Here are two things of note from the SRC quarterly meeting today.

1.       Craig Dormer is now the director of BSVI which means he is no longer acting as one! I did not have the opportunity today to convey to Director Miller and others how important it would be to have input from the blind and visually impaired community on such an important position. I will make this clear when I get a chance, believe me! I do not know Mr. Dormer, but as I find out more about him as it relates to his possible administration of this position, I will communicate that to you.

2.       It was mentioned in the BSVI report today that OOD will start to embed counselors at the Ohio State School for the Blind and Deaf. There was no mention of who that might be or how they might be selected or even how and why this decision was made. These are questions that I will raise in the future when appropriate, and you should too!
