Hello Everyone, The Spectrum Voice Activated box as Spectrum refers to it announces information including channel program time time of start and end time. It also announces channels as you push buttons. I do not know if there is extra charge but we got the box which has DVR Activated. I think you can get the Audio box without DVR. Colleen Roth
