Good Morning, 

 

Yesterday at the OSILC board meeting, Christy Hauck, from OOD made a presentation about employment opportunities for individuals with a visual disability.  The state contracts with Federal and State buildings to provide vending and café style services.  Individuals chosen for the program become self-employed, but receive startup costs/supplies from the state and support throughout to maintain the business. 

 

Cindy explained that they have quite a few people who will be aging out and they will need additional employees to fill the vacancies.  

 

If you have individuals, with a visual disability who you feel would meet the requirements (see attached), I would encourage you to reach out to Christy for additional information and help get the 2 connected.
