I appreciate the share. I am Special Ed teacher here in Ohio, although I don't currently have the VI license. I looked at their job description just out of curiosity purposes, as I have considered the idea of getting the additional license. Besides the drivers license thing on there, what I found a little troubling on their job description was the requirement to attend a student's eye examinations with their doctor. Am I the only one who finds this abnormal?! It would be like me attending the doctor appointment for one of my student's who have ADHD to discuss their meds with their doctor. I mean, the district where I work wants us to have very limited contact with doctors, which would be by phone...and only when absolutely necessary...let alone attending a medical exam with the child. How that doesn't infringe on their privacy rights, I have no idea.

I read through this job application since I can become certified in Ohio again. Sadly, one of the requirements for the job is a valid drivers license. Imagine, a blind person teaching a blind child! Who would have ever thought that was possible? Don't you know that is not possible since blind people are helpless and dependent.
