Dear Friends, Family and Members,

Thank you so much for your support and admiration for my new appointment to
the Ohio Executive Board. My hope is to assist, serve, improve and elevate
the mission of the National Federation of the Blind. Although, I am thankful
for the opportunity of this appointment; I can not in no way take the place
of Vice President, Sheri Albers. She has been invaluable and a great
resource advocating for the blind of Ohio and our members. Sheri will
definitely be missed!

Even though, I have served from the National down to the local level, this
is new and I know information was missed along the way. Yet, I am still
learning and will continue to do so. I do not know all of the answers, but I
hope I have learned enough to be quite helpful and productive. As I have
read and been told; it is the membership that drives the Executive Board.
So, I am willing and ready for this awesome ride on the backs of philosophy,
mission, transparency, accountability and prosperity; to change what it
means to be blind.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want;
blindness is not what holds you back.
