I'm so sorry to hear this and am praying that Richard and his family can
feel the love and support of the many people who care.
Thank you, Suzanne, for the info about suicide warning signs.

Subject: [Ohio-Talk] Condolences are needed!
Good Morning,
Please be patient with this email; as I am struggling to write this.
On yesterday, I learned that our Affiliate President, Richard Payne lost a
young person in his family to suicide. Chris Payne is his name and as
Richard and I; as well as all of us know or have a young adult in our lives.
Suicide is one of the leading causes of death among those who are 10 to 24.
We all listen to the news, and read about the affects of mental illness,
depression, bipolar, ADHD and others.
Please take a moment for prayer and a pause this morning for his family and
all families, who have young adults who are struggling. If you see a post on
Facebook or hear a conversation from someone who has the below warnings,
reach out.
In disclosure, I have a nephew as well, who had a bright future in
government; and now his mind is essentially gone. He is just existing in the
world with no knowledge of who he is. There are warning signs, that we take
for granted. I have listed them below. Please take a moment to review them,
it may save a life!
Richard, we are praying for Chris, you and your family. If there is anything
you need, please let Cleveland know! We stand with you during this difficult
time.
Suzanne Turner, President
NFBO of Cleveland
Warning Signs of suicide
Suicide does not have one single cause. Certain factors like substance abuse
and untreated depression can lead to higher risk of suicide just as having a
trusted group of friends can help protect you. Read more about the warning
signs of suicide, risk factors and protective factors of suicide.
Call 911 or the emergency service in your country if you see or hear the
following:
Someone threatening to hurt or kill him/herself or talking about wanting to
die. Especially if the person has a weapon or item to hurt himself/herself.
Searching for ways to kill him/herself by seeking access to lethal
means-whether that is online or physically in the moment of despair.
Someone talking, writing, or posting on social media about death and suicide
when these actions are out of the ordinary for the person.
Warning Signs
The warning signs of suicide are indicators that a person may be in acute
danger and may urgently need help.
* Talking about wanting to die or to kill oneself;
* Looking for a way to kill oneself;
* Talking about feeling hopeless or having no purpose;
* Talking about feeling trapped or being in unbearable pain;
* Talking about being a burden to others;
* Increasing the use of alcohol or drugs;
* Acting anxious, agitated, or reckless;
* Sleeping too little or too much;
* Withdrawing or feeling isolated;
* Showing rage or talking about seeking revenge; and
* Displaying extreme mood swings.
