Hello,
I hope all is well. We have some exciting news Representative Erica Crawley will be giving sponsor testimony for our blind parent's bill of rights House bill 188 next Tuesday September 10. In the past when one of our bills gets interduce and the sponsor of the bill is providing testimony, we try to have some of our members be present at the hearing to offer support to the representative, and to possibly get some face time with members of the general assembly. I will be providing the time and location in a later email for those who want to come to the Statehouse to be a part of history. Please think about coming if you can do so.
As I have stated in the past once the bill gets interduce by the sponsor things can start to move fast, and I have asked that individuals start getting their testimony together in order for when we are called to provide proponent testimony. I am asking that you start writing your testimony in case you have not done so yet, remember you may only get a few days' notice as to when we will be call to provide testimony in support of our bills. Please use this time to review our issues from the Columbus seminar and get your statements prepared to be submitted to the hearing record. It is important to remember that even if you plan to provide live testimony at the hearing, it is still required for you to submit your statement ahead of time to be included in the record. With this in mind please send me your testimony and I will get it submitted in the record for you. Please also remember that if you cannot come to Columbus to give live testimony, we can still use your written statement and add it to the record.
To clarify next Tuesday will only be sponcer testimony forHB188, so at this time no one from NFB would be called to testify, the only way this would change if we get notice that HB214 will be on the schedule for next week.
