Oh, Mike, I am so happy for you! Your joy is so clear in this message and
it is joy not just for yourself, but for blind people everywhere. What a
thrill to have that hard choice to make, choosing between two fabulous jobs!
And Atlanta is lucky indeed that the Leitermans are coming.
Congratulations!

Subject: [Ohio-Talk] good news!!!

Hello fellow Federationist,
Over the last couple of weeks I have had some really good news in regards to
my hunt for employment. I had been in talks with a company to join their
international trade legal team. However, just a day before we were to meet
to talk about compensation, I was contacted by a government agency, who had
received my resume and was interested in talking with me about possibly
joining their agency's legal team.
Well the unimaginable happened, within twenty-six hours of being contacted
by the federal government I was offered a position with The Center for
Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), working in their Appeals and
Litigation division. This position is located at their agency headquarters'
in Atlanta Georgia. This put me in the unusual position of having multiple
job offers. After evaluating the pros and cons of both positions, I made the
choice of taking the job with the CDC in Atlanta Georgia. I then did one of
the most difficult things I had ever done, and that was writing the
international trade company and informing them, that my circumstances had
changed and was no longer in a position to take the first employment
opportunity. This was truly a difficult thing for me to do based on how hard
it can be to find a really good job At this time I am at the beginning of
the onboarding process to join the federal government. This is a process
that does not have a set time period, but can take a while. Heather and I
are at the planning stage of relocating, and starting a new life in Georgia.
As I am sure that everyone can imagine this will take sometime and a great
deal of planning both on Heather and my part.
Heather and I both plan to be as involved as we have always been with our
NFBO family as long as we are still in Ohio. At this time we plan to keep
are Columbus condo, so we will be back from time to time. If anyone is
familiar with Atlanta heather and I could use suggestions as to where we
should look for housing, and with what types of things we can do in Atlanta
So, any guidance would be very much welcomed.
Heather and I will keep everyone updated as to our upcoming move, and I
would like to thank everyone in the NFBO for being such a good group of
friends and colleagues to Heather and I over the last three and a half
years.
