Good morning family and friends,

The 2020 NFB Convention opening ceremony last night was a blast!!! By the
way, this is my first National Convention! I am a Rookie!

The meeting ended at 10:29 P.M. Many door prizes ranging from $25 to $40 and
if I am not wrong, about 30 winners were selected! Among them, our friend
Billie Graham, Cleveland Chapter. Congratulations Billie!

Our Affiliate President, Richard Payne, after presenting our great State and
its various contributions to improve the lives of the blind Ohioans, he
mentioned that we are going to have our State Convention on November 6, 7,
and 8. We may hear about more details today between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm.

Also the rules of engagements for 2020 National Convention were read and
voted on. I managed to vote from my landline while listening to the
announcements made by our National President, Mark Riccobono. The vote
results were almost unanimous (for every 39 yeses, there was 1 no) and the
voting process took about 2 minutes or so.

Finally, when Beth read the 2020-05 Resolution, which can be called the
"parity Resolution", I was so moved and was so proud for being a member of
the National Federation of the Blind. I urge everyone to read it in addition
to the rest of the resolutions.

All in all, the meeting was breath taking, full of energy, hope, love and
determination!

Have an enjoyable Friday at the convention.

Ali

Live the life you want .
