This was my first national convention and I thought it was a good experience. I also mentored a young lady and I was able or should I say we were able to have great conversation, enter action through the virtual platform and not so much hustle and bustle. I look forward To New Orleans in 2021. I’ve been thinking about our state convention and look forward to participating in the creative process to make it the biggest and the best ever! I believe we can capture more blind people and parents of blind children this year Using the virtual platform and it will allow them the opportunity to absorb all that the Federation offers. Ohio strong! Live the life you want!

Every day we raise expectations for blind people because low expectations create obstacles between blind people and their dreams. You can live the life you want; blindness is not what holds you back.

>> Yes, I am up this morning after an exhausting yet exhilarating few days of convention. I know this was virtual, and I spent most of it sitting in my recliner with my iPad or my iPhone listening intently, but it is still very tiring. I feel like I was there in person. I can only imagine the excitement and camaraderie that takes place in an in person national convention. As I have said many times, this was my first national convention. And all I have to say is wow! There were times when I was listening very intently on what was going on, on a few occasions trying to listen to two separate seminars at the same time, one on each device. I soon learned that that would not work very well for me. From the very beginning, the first seminar that I attended, I believe it was the membership development seminar on Tuesday, it has been nonstop. I listened in on several technology-based groups, the board meeting, all the general sessions and the banquet. Along with spending Thursday afternoon with the merchants division. As for the banquet, and President Riccobono’s s address,it left me, speechless. What a great speech. Do you only thing missing was the roaring applause that should have followed it.

>> As for the Ohio affiliate, I need to echo everything that Suzanne said. I was very proud of the presence that Ohio had all throughout the convention! Like our own president Richard Payne said in an email yesterday, it made me extremely proud to be a part of your board of directors.
