Subject: [Ohio-Talk] The Ohio list

I am very glad that Richard reprinted the description of the Ohio list. I am
personally grateful that the list is as active as it is. I would be lost
without the information and notices that we get on it. But I must admit that
I get over a hundred messages a day, and I am very happy when these
reminders come of ways that we can cut down on the traffic on our list. I am
very pleased to know about losses and worries of members of our
Organization. I personally believe in the power of prayer, and I try to pray
for everyone for whom prayers are requested. But I wonder if it would be a
good idea if people included their own or the person being talked about
could include their email address. Maybe the author could agree to collect
and pass along messages. In this way we can respond off list to requests or
even joys that people have announced. If you want to respond to a request or
announcement about something not having to do with blindness, please respond
off list to the person writing the message. It is certainly not appropriate
for us to proselytize or urge personal political points of view to others on
our list. Please keep these reminders in mind when you are considering
sending messages that are not specifically about blindness or the NFB.

Thank you,
Barbara

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise
expectations for blind people because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and their dreams. You can live the life you want;
blindness is not what holds you back.
