Hi Wan. Basically, the app I'm inquiring about is Grammarly, which is an
add-on to Microsoft Office that gives feedback on writing grammatically
correct documents. It is produced by a third-party developer to work with MS
/ Office applications as an add-on--you download the app and it functions in
the background as you type a document in Word or Outlook.

Since Microsoft didn't develop the app (The app just works with Microsoft
applications), there is no reason to believe that Microsoft would be able to
offer any tech support using the app. Microsoft certainly isn't responsible
for it. Since Freedom Scientific doesn't have anything to do with the app's
development, they would just say that they don't support the app and to
reach out to the developer directly.

To complicate things further, JAWS works with applications like Word through
modifications to its interface and sometimes the guts of the programming
interface so that a Blind person can access it. Even if a developer like
Grammarly isn't aware if there products are accessible, this doesn't mean
that some third party script developer (say, Brian Hartgen out of the UK,
for example who does a lot of work with apps like Skype and the former
iTunes app for the Pc), hasn't gone ahead and developed a script for JAWS
which you can download and install.

For this reason, several lists have popped up for JAWS Users, but the one I
would post to with a question like this is no longer active. I think the
moderator had some health issues come up and had to shut down the list last
year--which unfortunately, is very typical in our world, as we all know.

So what I was asking is--simply--if anyone has suggestions about another
list where I could post my inquiry or a division within NFB that would have
the information I need.

Hopefully this answers your question.

Very Best,

Chris

Wanda. Freedom Scientific likely wouldn't be able to tell me which apps are
accessible with JAWS and which aren't. They would consider it third party
information, and, given that the software in question is an add-on to MS
Office and there might be scripts from additional developers that I might
need to install, there is no way that Freedom Scientific would be able to
give me this info.

Thanks for asking.

Chris

Did you check with Freedom Scientific.com They are responsible for informing
the public and upgrading the program on JAWS. They have a workshop at
National on the first day of the convention.

Hello all. I'm looking for any information about whether or not an add-on to
Office 2016 or Office 365 is accessible with JAWS. Is there a list operated
by the NFB where I could post such a question?

Thanks in advance,

Chris
