Northeast Ohio,

Below is a gracious list from the City of Cleveland's Department of Aging
and Disability on hours that have been set aside for seniors and vulnerable
individuals to grocery shop.

Hopefully all City grocery stores across the state are providing the same
accommodation. If not, please reach out to them and inquire. This will not
only help the blind but others in the area as well.

Senior Shopping Hours - as of March 20th, 2020
Compiled by the Cleveland Department of Aging

In order to protect those most vulnerable against COVID-19, some businesses
have implemented periods of time exclusively for senior shoppers. The list
is growing and will be updated as more stores enact such policies.

Currently, stores and hours include:

-Dollar General - the first hour of operation each day
-Dave's Supermarket - 7:00 A.M. - 8:00 A.M. every day
-Giant Eagle - 6:00 A.M. - 7:00 A.M., Monday - Wednesday
-Heinen's - 8:00 A.M. - 9:00 A.M. every day
-Target - the first hour the store is open each Wednesday (for most Target
locations, 8:00 A.M., but check your local Target to verify)
-Walmart - one hour before the store opens each Tuesday (for most Walmart
locations, 6:00 A.M. - 7:00 A.M., but check your local Walmart to verify)
-Whole Foods - 7:30 A.M. - 8:00 A.M. every day at the Rocky River and
University Heights locations

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want;
blindness is not what holds you back.
