>From Annette Lutz, President Capital Chapter

Ohio,

At our chapter meeting this past Saturday, the capital chapter talked about
doing something special for this year's graduates at the Ohio State school
for the Blind due to the fact that they are being robbed of all of their
special senior moments this year because of the coronavirus. President
Richard Payne Who we were happy to have at our meeting, asked if this could
be end of Philly at project instead of with just the chapter. We thought
this was a great idea. I have spoken to Michelle Wagner, the school
principal, and found out that they have 12 graduating seniors this year. On
Monday, I would like those of you who are interested to get together on a
conference call to try and come up with ideas of how the national Federation
of the blind of Ohio can help make their graduation special. Please join us
if you are interested in brainstorming ideas of what we can do, and helping
out with this project.

Date: Monday evening, May 11, 2020

Time: 7 o'clock.

Richard Payne is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.

Topic: Tips and Tricks for Navigating the Rehabilitation System with Fred
Schroeder and Ohio Affiliate leaders.

Date: Wednesday evening, May 13, 2020

Time: 7:00 PM

Many of our members have indicated that we need to offer advocacy training
for individuals engaged with the rehabilitation system in Ohio, and for
those who wish to serve as advocates. Before you can advocate effectively
for yourself or some one else you must understand the system. Join us as
Fred Schroeder teaches us the basics of navigating the rehabilitation
system. I have asked Eric Duffy to serve as host for this meeting. Fred is a
former commissioner of the Rehabilitation Services administration and a
dynamic speaker and leader. Help us spread the word and get as many members
and interested people to the meeting as possible. Below is the meeting

I would like to invite everyone to the NFB of Ohio Adopt a Senior

Facebook group. This group was created to brighten the days of

visually impaired and blind high school and college seniors during

these trying times. If you are or know a high school or college

senior, feel free to join the group, and post a short bio with some

pictures. In order to adopt, just comment that you would like to adopt

that particular senior. After that, send the senior or nominator a

Facebook message requesting the senior's address. Let's brighten the days of
these hard-working people!
