Eric,

I am glad that the question was asked, We should find a way to get all of the history and records of the affiliate stored. We probably have some information on the national level but it would be nice for us to find a way to compile all of the history of  the affiliate.  
Look at those hotel rates.

I want to thank Barbara Pierce for putting this together. I know she got help from Paul Dressell on this one. I will keep this information on my computer and make sure Richard has it as a word file as well.

NFB-O Convention Sites

1957: Findlay, Dr. tenBroek, National Rep.

1958: Akron

1959: Cincinnati, Gibson Hotel, 187 at banquet, officers elected for 59/60 were president, Clyde Ross; first vice president, Glenn Huffman; second vice president, John Chambers; executive secretary, Bill Dressell; recording secretary, Mary Eiche; treasurer, Ruth Brust (later Demarzio)

1960: Lima

1961:

1962: Cleveland, Manger Hotel, Ross won reelection 12 to 8. He had been winning 17 to 5. The pro-NFB forces were gaining.

1963: elected president, George Bonsky; 1st president, William Wells; 2nd VP Al Smith; corresponding secretary, Mary Eiche; executive secretary, Bill Dressell; treasurer, Ruth Brust (her husband Homer helped her with the print).

1964: Akron, John Nagle, National Rep.

1965: Dayton,

1966: Youngstown, October 14-16, Voyager Motor Inn, Russell Kletzing, National Rep.

1967: Southern Hotel in Columbus, October 13-15

1968: officers elected were president, Al Smith; first VP, Carl Eiche; 2nd VP, Charles Novinger; executive secretary, Edna Fillinger; recording secretary, John Knall; treasurer, Ivan Garwood

1969: Cincinnati, Gibson Hotel, Dr. Jernigan National Rep., Oct. 10-12

1970: Cleveland  Hollenden House, October 9-11     don Capps was national rep. Alfonso Smith died suddenly in March. Helen Johnson was first VP, so she took over. Elected officers were president, Raymond Creech; first vice president, Robert Steyer; second vice president, Thomas Matthews; secretary, John Knall, and treasurer, Ivan Garwood. The Executive board appointed Edna Fillinger to serve another year as executive secretary. Clyde Ross dies Jan. 16 1970. 

1971: Toledo, Commodore Perry Motor Inn,  October 22-25, Jim Omvig national rep. Elected without explanation were president, Edna Fillinger; first vice president, Tom Matthews; second vice president, Ray Creech; secretary, Shirley Stowe; treasurer, Ivan Garwood. Rita  Bressler was appointed executive secretary.

1972: Akron Tower Motor Inn, Oct. 13-15, elected were president, Edna Fillinger; first vice president Tom Matthews; second vice president, Dewey Cummings; secretary, Shirley Stowe; treasurer, Ivan Garwood, John Nagle was the national rep. Rita Bressler was he executive secretary.

1973: Dayton, Bob Eschbach elected president

1974: Cleveland, Hollenden House, Ned Graham, National Rep.

1975: Columbus, Southern Hotel, Jim Gashel National Rep.

1976: Marietta, Ramada Inn, October 14-17, Dr. Jernigan National Rep.

1977: Youngstown, Rami Rabby National Rep.

1978: Toledo, Commodore Perry Hotel, Ralph Sanders National Rep.

1979: Cincinnati, Terrace Hilton Hotel, Joyce Scanlan National Rep.
