Subject: [Ohio-Talk] A tech event of interest

Be My Eyes is hosting a free, global, virtual, accessible conference on what’s new in sight tech. Claim your tickets now! – Having trouble viewing this email? Read it online or as a plain text.

Dear Cheree,

Next week, I’d like to invite you to join us at a new event called Sight Tech Global. The free 2-day event, which is produced by the Vista Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired, will take place on December 2nd and 3rd, and I’ll be hosting live on both days. The lineup is absolutely phenomenal and I couldn’t be more proud to be introducing so many amazing inventors, researchers and developers who have defined the way we see today and into the future.

Sight Tech Global is all about today’s most cutting edge technology developed by and for those who are blind or have low vision – but it’ll be of interest to anyone who likes learning about artificial intelligence, talking computers, self-driving cars and other types of “seeing” technology. You can read more about it in an article I wrote this week for TechCrunch, who is co-sponsoring the event, along with our friends at Verizon Media and many others.

The premise of Sight Tech Global is simple: For decades, people who are blind or have low vision have relied on technology to break down barriers – but accessible technology benefits everyone.

We’re at a critical moment, where what was once considered “niche” or “special needs” tech is breaking through into the mainstream. AI assistants, image recognition and synthetic speech are becoming expected features that we all benefit from, not just people who are blind.

We’re going to be talking with the experts from Apple, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Humanware, Vispero and many more over the course of these two jam-packed days. The event is designed with accessibility in mind, but should you encounter any difficulty during the event itself, you can call the Sight Tech Global team with the Be My Eyes app, in Specialized Help under the Events category.

Read the article in TechCrunch: “Want to know what tomorrow’s tech looks like? Ask someone who can’t see” and tune in for some great discussions next week!

Have a great weekend and stay safe,

 Will Butler,
VP of Community at Be My Eyes
