The Community Service Committee invites you to participate and
partner with Lutheran Social Services network of Hope in the 2021 Ohio
Affiliate Service Project.

Domestic Violence or Intimate Partner Abuse is on the rise in the
United States. The pandemic has not helped but created the perfect
petri dish for many to be victimized in the worst ways. This includes,
persons with disabilities. Unfortunately, it is difficult to provide
accurate statistics because persons with disabilities are the least
likely to report incidents of abuse. However, when anyone is in crisis
it is comforting to know that the Lutheran Social Services network of
Hope is a viable option. Please read on to find out how small things
can mean so very much to others.

What is Lutheran Social Services Network of Hope?

The Lutheran Services of Hope network provides hope and healing for
people in crisis. LSS Choices operates the only domestic violence
focused shelter in Franklin county, a safe- haven and a twenty -four
hour crisis and information hotline. Choices also offers counseling
services, support groups, legal and community advocates and domestic
violence awareness and prevention awareness. These programs help
people begin to heal and recover from the trauma of their abuse and
gain independence and self-sufficiency.
About half of the shelter residents are children. Relocating may make
some of them confused, anxious or angry. Welcome Kits can calm and
soothe a child when he/ she is in unfamiliar and frightening
surroundings. So, lots of snacks are much needed and most welcome.

Overview: Chapters and Divisions may wish to designate a member to
lead this project. collect and assemble Welcome Kits and snacks, to be
