Happy new year fellow Federationists!
When saying good-bye to the current year and ringing in the new, we often reflect on the past and look forward to the future with hope. This has been a trying year for many of us as individuals, as a nation, and as an organization. On a personal note I severed ties that should have been broken many years ago, and I am glad I did. As a nation the covid-19 vaccine gave us hope, but the refusal of all too many to get it has enabled the virus to continue to plague our nation in so many ways. The National Federation of the Blind has had a hard year as well, but already we have begun to right the ship. 2022 will mark my 38th year as an active member of the National Federation of the Blind.

I have personal hopes and dreams for the year ahead, and there is much I hope we will accomplish as a nation. But my strength and my greatest hope rests in the National Federation of the Blind and the National Federation of the Blind of Ohio. I know that as an organization we are unstoppable. We will pass our Parental Rights bill in the coming year, and I am confident that we can pass our accessible prescription labeling bill as well. We have strong leadership and committed members in this organization so I know this and so much more is possible in 2022. As you plan for the year ahead resolve to give just a little more to the National Federation of the Blind of Ohio. Give a little more of you time, your energy, and your money to the organization, and give a little more of your love and understanding to each other. I am pledging to do that here and now. I make this pledge to you the members of the National Federation of the Blind of Ohio. If we all do this we will have a tremendous new year as an organization and as individuals. When we reach down deep and find ways to give just a little more to each other we grow and prosper as individuals. Happy new year to all.
