The NFB Ohio Community Service committee invites you to celebrate the life and legacy of Rev. Dr. MARTIN LUTHER KING JUNIOR in the NFB Ohio Zoom room.
We want to pay tribute to the most important voice of the American civil rights movement.



Did you know?

-              Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. started college at 15

-              Over 900 streets in the United States are named after Rev.
Dr. Martin Luther, Jr.

-              He was born Michael King. He changed his name to honor the
German protestant reformation leader, Martin Luther

-              He was only 35 when he won the Nobel peace prize in 1964. He
was the youngest person to win the award at that time

-              In 1993, the NFL had originally planned to play the Super
Bowl XXVII in Arizona, but pulled out after the state refused to honor Rev.
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr’s birthday

-              Won a Grammy for a spoken word album protesting the Vietnam
war

-              In 1964, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was the first
black person to be named Times magazine Man of the Year

-              The Army core of engineers fixed Rev. Dr. Martin Luther
King, Jr.’s sound system when it was sabotaged leading up to his “I Have A Dream” speech
