The National Federation of the Blind of Ohio (NFBO) DeafBlind Committee
invite all to participate in an educational presentation by The Helen Keller
National Center (HKN).

 

June9, 2021

6:30 PM EDT,

 

We will welcome Karlee. Wascher, John Filek and Kacie Weldy. Karlee Wascher
is the HKN DeafBlind Specialist, Field Services, John Filek is HKNC's new
Region 5 Regional Representative and Kacie Weldy is HKNC's DeafBlind
Specialist that services both Ohio and Indiana.

 

These Specialist will talk to us about:

1. Helen Keller National Center,

2. Information on Service Support Providers (SSP)

3.  tactile communication, which is manual hand and finger alphabet
spelling,

4.   Haptics Communication, which is to draw attention to certain directions
or to provide visual or environmental information. These Direction signals
are mainly provided on the receiver's back, but can also be provided on
other places.

 

All are welcome to join this exciting and informative presentation.
