Annett,
I tried to use ancestry several years ago using an iPhone and an iPad. I could do some things but others were hard to use with voiceover. Hopefully times have changed! I am interested to see what you find out.

Wanda, thanks. Sorry about the misunderstanding. This is for the website that looks up past family records. Births, deaths, military service, marriages and the like. Sometimes they have immigration records and supposedly all sorts of other things.
I was just wondering if I would be able to read these sorts of records or not. How accessible they might be with voiceover.

Thanks.

Annette

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the characteristic that defines you or your future. Everyday we raise the expectations of blind people because we know that low expectations create obstacles between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want, blindness is not what holds you back.

You may want to check with your Dr. My medical insurance covered mine. It's all in the D.N.A. anyway. 15 vials of blood was taken and 6 weeks later, I received a big surprise.

Subject: [Ohio-Talk] Accessibility question

Good morning NFB family and friends,

I was thinking about joining ancestry.com and looking up some of my families past. However, before I give them any credit card information and subscribe, I wanted to know if any of you had ever tried this and how accessible their records are. I really didn’t want to pay and learn later that I would not be able to access anything. I believe they give a trial period, but, I have found that once you give a credit card many of those types of things are very difficult to unsubscribe from. Please let me know if any of you have had success with this. I would most likely be using voice over. Thanks.

Annette
