[Ohio-Talk] Urgent Warning re Fraudulent Emails

As many of you may know we have previously had some issues with
fraudulent emails being sent that appear to have originated from President
Payne. Those emails requested such things as gift cards, etc. This morning
numerous NFB members are reporting receiving emails from me that are
requesting assistance setting up mobile payments via Zelle or Venmo. Some
messages have requested as much as $1300. These messages ARE NOT coming
from me or anyone else at the NFB. In fact, if you look closely at the
messages you will see that the messages are not from any of my personal or
NFB email accounts. Please do not respond to any message requesting money
or personal financial information of any kind without verifying with the
sender through a known means of communication (i.e. do not just reply to
the message) that the request is legitimate. Although it is highly
unlikely that we will be able to completely stop these messages, I will be
looking into what possibilities exist for addressing this issue. Please
contact me if you have any questions or concerns regarding this matter.

Sincerely,

Todd Elzey, Treasurer
National Federation of the Blind of Ohio
