> My name is Denice and I was born, and raised, and still live in the City of Brotherly Love and Sisterly Affection. Some of my interests and hobbies include Going to Broadway shows and other theatrical events, going to live music events especially Jazz, R & B, and gospel. I also love to dance, and have a good time with my family and friends. I am passionate about teaching others how to use their iOS devices and love to network with my NFB family from all around the country.

> I’m very active within the National Federation of the Blind and serve in many different capacities, such as being the President of the Greater Philadelphia Chapter, a member of the Board of Directors of NFB PA, a member of the 2021 NFB Scholarship Committee, a member of the 2021 NFB Membership Committee, a member of Black Leaders Serving for Advancement, and a member of the NFB Greek and Masonic Group. In the last year, I have volunteered my time, on a daily basis, to assist any blind individuals with learning to use their iPhones and iPads. I am also teaching two classes monthly to assist blind individuals with technology, blindness skills, the NFB philosophy, and everyday social activities. On Thursday nights, I am one of the team members for the virtual Happy Hour Crew within the Ohio affiliate. I serve as their musicologist and a part time DJ. In regards to my chapter (The Greater Philadelphia Chapter), I have taken part in various activities and have donated to projects like the You Cane Give project, which makes sure that blind people from around the world who cannot afford a white cane gets one and knows how to use it. With my sorority, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated, I have donated socks to shelters, and books to schools and shelters. I have also made donations to the Period Poverty Project, which makes sure that young ladies who cannot afford the items that they need during their menstrual cycle have them. In addition, I have donated to the Black Doctors COVID Consortium to ensure that they have the needed medical sources to keep communities healthy. I am not only heavily involved with the NFB, I am a strong supporter of the NAACP, the Apollo Theatre, and Temple University.

> Giving back to my community is important to me because if there were not those who gave back to me, I would no way be in the position that I am now. I have learned in all that I am from someone else. People have helped me to strive as a blind individual, as a woman, as a teacher, as a friend, and the like. I feel that you should use your God given gifts to help, strengthen, and nurture others in order to help them advance to their full potential. Remember, God loves a cheerful giver. For me that means with your time, finances, and advice.
