I blind copied Jeff Kaloc as requested. Adapt this as you wish.
Dear Ms. Peery,
I live in Oberlin, Ohio, and I have visited the Portman office every February for years to discuss the needs of blind Ohioans and the work of the National Federation of the Blind. I would like to urge SENATOR Portman to cosponsor the Access Technology Affordability Act, S. 212. This legislation removes an employment barrier commonly experienced by blind Americans who cannot afford the high cost of access technology by creating a refundable tax credit in the amount of $2,000 to offset the cost of this technology. Without such technology jobs are nearly impossible to get, and rehabilitation funding is completely inadequate to meeting the need for poor, blind Ohioans.
Thanks,
Barbara Pierce (she, her, hers)

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise expectations for blind people because low expectations create obstacles between blind people and their dreams. You can live the life you want; blindness is not what holds you back.
