Hello Ohio!

As most of you have heard by now, our 2021 state convention will now be virtual. But, this does not diminish the absolute joy that somebody feels when their name is called for a door prize. So, it is time for your chapters, divisions, and our individual members to start planning on your door prize donations. Since donors will once again have to send the door prizes to those who win, it is recommended that you use gift cards, either those that can be sent in the mail, or electronically, for door prizes. Cash prizes are also welcome. Or, anything else if the donor would like to mail it. We even had a suggestion of gift cards from the independence market. That would be a fabulous
Price for anyone to win! They have so many wonderful items there, both useful and fun.

So, in order to donate a prize, please decide what you would like to donate and send that information to me. I will be putting together a list of all of the prizes. I am hopeful that everybody who comes to convention walks out with a door prize, but for that to happen we have to have everybody donate. I know a couple of groups have already sent me their ideas for donation, but that was when we were planning an in person convention. So, we are starting from scratch. I will not assume that if you were giving a physical pry said it will still be the same, so please send me any donations that you may be given. Again, do not send me the actual price, just what you’re planning to give. After convention I will let all of the donors know who their lucky winner was and send them the information to pass on the prize. This worked pretty good last year, and I will expect it to work the same, or even better, this year.

Also, don’t forget to register for convention. You have to be registered, and present, in order to win. But, I know that won’t be a problem. Nobody will want to miss a single minute of convention, so everybody will be tuned in when their name
Is called.

Our president Payne told me he is worried about door prizes. And I assured him that we would have nothing to worry about. This affiliate has always been generous, and we will have many happy winners again this year.

Thanks in advance for your donation! And, I look forward to calling your name at convention!

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the characteristic that defines you or your future. Everyday we raise the expectations of blind people because we know that low expectations create obstacles between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want, blindness is not what holds you back.
