Good Morning NFB of Ohio family and friends!

Now that August has arrived, it is definitely time to start planning for our upcoming state convention in Independence Ohio this November! One of the highlights of that convention is awarding the achievements of our Federationists, either as individuals or as chapters and divisions. I am honored again this year to Chair the Awards Committee and I look forward to seeing what all of you have accomplished in providing equality, opportunity, and security for the blind of Ohio. Attached to this email, you will find a description of all of the awards that this committee will consider to present at our state convention. In separate emails, you will find the questionnaires for both chapters and divisions to complete. I am hopeful this year that we have 100% participation from every oneof our chapters and divisions. every one of them have achieved great things this year, and I’m looking forward to seeing them highlighted in your questionnaires. The deadline this year for submission of all nominating letters and questionnaires will be Saturday, October 1, 2022. Anyone with questions about how to submit nominating letters as individuals, or those who have questions representing their chapter or divisions may contact me or the other members of our committee, Jerry Purcell and Macy Mcclain.

Good luck to all those competing for this year‘s awards! Now it is time to gather the information and let us know how you help build the national Federation of the blind!

The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the characteristic that defines you or your future. Everyday we raise the expectations of blind people because we know that low expectations create obstacles between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want, blindness is not what holds you back.
