What is Gospel music, and what about it brings people together?

“It is a collection of beautiful harmonies and melodies that have been
versed together, in a powerful way. People love how it sounds like we are
singing scripture verses,” said Wanda Sloan of Dayton.

Who’s the first person that comes to mind when you think of this kind of
music?

“That is very easy. None other than Mahalia Jackson! Her beautiful voice,
her soulful words, it’s impeccable,” said Linda Blueford of Cleveland.

Where does Gospel music take you?

“It has an incredible way of touching your heart. And the words fill you
with love, peace, and a feeling of warmth,” said Barbara Mabry of Lakeview.

As we reflect on the legacy of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr this
month, the Happy Hour Crew thought an evening of rich Gospel music would be
