[Ohio-Talk] Call to action for the two Legislative Bills

Ohio,

 

Today at 3:00 PM, the Zoom Room will be open for members to pick up their
phones and call Congress asking them to co-sponsor two NFB Legislative
Bills.

 

Legislative Alert

Last week, the Access Technology Affordability Act 

was introduced in the House. The bill numbers for the Access Technology
Affordability Act are 

H.R. 3702 and S. 1467. There are 165 cosponsors in the House and 40
cosponsors in the Senate

 

Then On March 1, 2023, the Medical Device Nonvisual Accessibility Act, 

H.R. 1328 was introduced by Representative Jan Schakowsky (D-IL) along with 

32 initial cosponsors. Over the past three months, we have gained 16 more; a
total of 48 cosponsors. There is not a bill in the Senate. 

So, we have been advised not to mention the bill in the Senate.

 

Both the House and Senate are in session this week. You can email or call
your rep  with the bill number urging them to co-sponsor.

Again, I am opening the zoom room at 3:00 PM for those who want to call. We
will briefly discuss the bills and then flood the gates in hope of gaining
more co-sponsors. Spread the word to those who either can not or have email
to cold call reps.
