The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want; blindness is not what holds you back.

Subject: [Ohio-Talk] Exciting Summer Internship Announcement!

Hello everyone,

Now that the craziness of the semester and graduation is over, I wanted to share an exciting update regarding my professional career. For context, I will be doing an internship this summer, finishing my Master’s thesis in the fall, and then attending the Louisiana Center for the Blind in 2024.

After an internship placement process with several twists and turns, I am excited to share that I have accepted an offer with the Environment Branch of the Office of Management and Budget, Executive Office of the President!

This opportunity takes me to the White House campus in Washington DC, where I will be working on the climate change and Air programs portfolio, working as the middle entity between the Biden Administration and the Environmental Protection Agency. The goal here is to monitor and track progress made on national climate and air programs as it relates to the President’s budget, with my specific projects being within the Inflation Reduction Act, and the Infrastructure and Investments Job Act.

Policy Analysis has always been an interest of mine, so I am especially excited to get the chance to dive deeper into this type of work, especially as it relates to improving our country’s progress towards holistic solutions to environmental and public health issues!

If anyone has any recommendations for places to visit in DC, please let me know!

Best regards,

Kinshuk
