Firstly, to knew members, my name is Shane Popplestone, one of the state NFB
news line coordinators.
Please distribute the following announcement as appropriate.
I'm writing this on my own, after checking services manually myself.
I'll be checking in with newsline myself in the morning to see where
services fully stand and I'll provide an update then.
You may have noticed over the past week or so that parts of newsline were
offline, and not functioning as expected.
On personally checking, the following services seem to be working as of 9:30
PM eastern time, on July 17,, 2024.
The mobile app seems to be back online.
The system responsible for providing newsline to smart displays such as the
mantus seems to be functioning.
The after hours support indicates that the alexa service is still offline as
of July 15, 2024, it also indicated that sending of braille files to NLS
e-readers, etc. was also not functioning but at least my mantus was able to
retrieve newsline without a problem so their could be that nobodies updated
the status recording.
I do not have my victor stream III connected yet, So I am unable to test
this interaction.
I do note that if you access newsline from nfbnewsline.net you will be
unable to access this website right now as it seems to still be completely
down.
With nfbnewsline.net being down still, this means I will be unable to
retrieve, or modify NFB of Ohio profiles, or add NFB of Ohio members to the
system if you need to be added.
I'll write tomorrow with more when I know it.
