Good afternoon federation family both in and out of state and federation
leaders,

Please distribute this to those who may not have e-mail access.

I've just spoken directly with Scott White in the past 30 minutes at the
national office and on top of what President Richard Payne posted to Ohio
earlier today, and what national blasted out to all members via e-mail and
social media here's what I have to distribute.

The outage was caused by a hardware failure in the server responsible for
newsline, and they made the decision to complete the migration to the cloud
at that time.

This migration was already underway prior to the hardware failure, but it
was stepped up due to the failure of the hard drive.

At this time, the following services are considered working.

Access via smart displays, (mantus, e-readers, etc.), the mobile app, victor
readers, and telephone.

I personally have verified all four are working.

The following services are still considered down.

The Alexa skill, and nfbnewsline.net

The Washington post is being worked on.

To those that reported the new York times being unavailable on some devices,
I've reported this to him, and he's looking into it.

If you have concerns and need immediate assistance, please call the newsline
customer service number at 1-866-504-7300 or send e-mail to
nfbnewsline at nfb.org <mailto:nfbnewsline at nfb.org>

Note to Ohio, I will be unable to update our newsline channel, or access
records in any form until the website comes back online.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.
