 Shingles is awful, but it will go away soon. Hang in there, Sherry. If it comes back, have a prescription of the antiviral on hand to take at the first sign of recurrence. Very early antivirals are crucial to eradication of the shingles virus. I went through shingles multiple times two years ago. The recurring cycle ended finally when I had the antivirals ready and took them at the first sign of symptoms. I was in terrible pain and very weak for months. I could not cook or anything. I ordered Meals on Wheels. It did finally go away and, afterwards, I went for physical therapy and learned some simple exercises which relieved the resulting pressure on some of my motor nerves. The physical therapy worked like magic! Take care Sherry.

Cleveland Chapter

Offers the ability to read and write through Braille Instruction.

The ability to read and write braille is still key to independence for blind
and low vision individuals. Because of the evolution of increasingly digital
assistive technology developing, there are clear benefits to reading and
writing Braille. Therefore, the Cleveland Chapter is offering a one-month
Peer to Peer Braille Instruction Course.

Braille provides spelling, grammar, and punctuation for gaining an
understanding of how text is formatted on the page. So, if you are a
first-time learner or have limited ability to read and write Braille, then
this course is for you!

This free one-month course will start on Saturday, June 8, 2024, from 12:30
to 2:00 PM EDT. The location is in the heart of University Circle, 1962

I was hoping to wait to write this message till after I had talked to Sherry again, But she has not called me, so I will pass along what I know at the moment. Sherry came down with shingles a week ago. She has been pretty miserable with it, and it set her back some. I think she is depressed, and she is not eager to encourage people to call her. I am going to try to encourage her to let us call and try to support her. If he is lucky, Tom and their son Tony will be going on a mission trip late this month. Tom badly needs to get away, so I hope that this will work out. Please continue to pray for Sherry and for her recovery.

It is necessary for us to take the whole system off-line this Sunday for
approximately three hours. We must change/upgrade the Operating System that
the server uses. Our current OS is no longer being supported.

The outage will start at 11:00 a.m. central time on Sunday June 9. We
estimate that it will take approximately three hours, however it could be
somewhat less, or more, if problems are encountered. No e-mail, list mail,
or content should be lost.
