Subject: [Ohio-Talk] Update on Life
Hello everyone
I know I do not email everyone about my life. I am a private person but I
wanted to share some news I have had happen recently.
1. I have gotten a new job working at my local YMCA. I am working at
the French Creek Family YMCA in Avon Ohio. I am very excited to have this
job because it is a tiny step in my future plans to work in the fitness
field and bring fitness more to people with disabilities. I am still working
on getting my Health Coaching certification. This does not mean that I can
not give someone advice on their health. I have a degree in Health Coaching
if anyone would like to have a session with me. I am not trying to sell
services but I want to get this information out since health services are
hard for people with disabilities to find. I have finished earning the
degree but am waiting for it to be put in my hand in the spring. I have been
told that I can do Health Coaching but if I want to be hired to do it for a
business I need my certification. I am working with several organizations to
try and complete this. This has been a horrible journey but I am working on
it.
2. I am graduating with two associates in the spring. The degrees I am
earning are Sports and Fitness Management and Health and Wellness
Coaching/Promotion. Both of these are Associates of Applied Sciences. I have
already made my spring schedule and registered for graduation. This is a
huge accomplishment for me since I am first generation college. I am
planning to go and earn my Bachelors of Exercise Science in the Fall of
2025.
3. I have been inducted into my local Lions club this past Thursday. I
made a presentation about my guide dog to them in September and have been
attending meetings when I can. They have accepted me as a member. I would be
interested in who else are Lions members and how do you participate in your
club.
That is all from me now.
Yours Truly,
Asia Quinones-Evans
