Second Annual Accessible Ohio Conference and Expo
Good afternoon Thursday,
Anette and I had the opportunity to participate as vendors at the second
annual Accessible Ohio Conference and Expo, an event that reached its full
capacity. Our conversations with fellow vendors and statewide partners were
truly rewarding and insightful.
Networking and Key Attendees
Notably, Everette Bacon and Caroline Karbowski were also present as vendors.
During the conference, important questions were raised concerning the delays
blind attendees experience when using receivers to listen to professional
games.
Event Attendance and Collaboration
Although our table was not located at the front as it had been last year,
the conference was extremely well attended. This provided excellent
opportunities to connect with and collaborate alongside new professionals in
our field.
We also evaluated the new Glidance guide robot and found its technology
promising. While there is optimism about future improvements, some updates
are expected to enhance its capabilities.
Upcoming Fundraiser Announcement
We are pleased to introduce a new fundraiser designed to support our
affiliate and help offset costs for the scholarship program - and it's one
everyone can enjoy each night!
We are partnering with Cloud 9 Fundraising to sell soft, cool-feeling
sheets, pillows, and blankets. Each sheet set, no matter the size, is
available for just $42.00.
To participate and support us, please use the link below to shop. You will
need to create an account with the company to ensure that proceeds benefit
NFB Ohio.

The National Federation of the Blind advances the lives of its members and
all blind people in the United States. We know that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. Our collective power, determination,
and diversity achieve the aspirations of all blind people.
