Good Morning, Ohio
Thank you for the congratulatory wishes. It was an honor for Cleveland to
perform at the 2026 Angel Child Event. Chacity Gilliam, Tomeika Hurt, Jacky
Gwin and Delcenia Brown were outstanding. They are looking forward to more
performances in 2026 in Ohio.
The Circle City Chapter of Indiana, President, Lee Martin and his member
organized an outstanding event. There were 102 in attendance. The theme was
"Embracing the Heart of Christmas, Sharing the Love from Above".
Attached are the monolog performances.
Additionally, I was wonderfully surprised when I was provided an award for
serving in the community and at all levels of the NFB. I became overjoyed
and emotional. However, I was met with grace.
Thank you to President, Payne and Dr. Peters along with her son Joel Carson
and daughter in-law, Denita Carson for their support and assistance at the
event as well.
Thank you all again. Ohio is an awesome state, and I enjoy working with all
of you!

Subject: [Ohio-Talk] Angel Child Event Participation
Yesterday, several members from our Cleveland and Dayton chapters had the
honor of being invited to the Angel Child event in Indianapolis. This
special gathering was attended by more than one hundred people.
The Angel Child event is dedicated to celebrating the achievements of
children and families who are blind. The celebration includes the heartfelt
tradition of presenting gifts to these families and recognizing their
accomplishments.
Suzanne was selected as the keynote speaker for this occasion. Along with
several members of her chapter, she was invited to reprise a monologue they
performed earlier this year. Their participation brought further inspiration
and recognition to the event.
During the event, the Circle City Chapter presented Suzanne with an award in
acknowledgment of her commitment and significant contributions. This
recognition is a testament to her dedication and reflects the collective
efforts of our members in supporting the work we do across the affiliate.
All members should feel proud of Suzanne's achievements and the ongoing
support provided by our chapters. Our shared efforts continue to make a
meaningful difference in the lives of families and children within our
community.

The National Federation of the Blind advances the lives of its members and
all blind people in the United States. We know that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. Our collective power, determination,
and diversity achieve the aspirations of all blind people.
