Ohio this would normally go to presidents, and it will but everyone on this
list is responsible for making the seminar the best one possible.

Dear leaders,

We are beginning to put together the 2025 Columbus Seminar. Although we are
in the very early planning stage, we want to get information to you as soon
as possible so that you and your members can plan to be with us in Columbus.
At this point we know we will be working to get money in the biannual budget
for the Support Services Program for the DeafBlind, passing legislation to
end subminimum wages in Ohio, and finally to get accessible prescription
labeling in Ohio. These are not listed in any particular order. They are all
our legislative priorities. We are asking everyone who can help with this
important legislative work to be in Columbus on Monday, April 14, and
Tuesday, April 15. Our base of operations will be the Plaza Hotel Columbus
at Capitol Square 75 East State Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215. All rooms are
$129. plus tax per night. Dinner will be provided on Monday, and we are
planning a legislative breakfast on Tuesday morning.

Legislative training will begin promptly at 3:00 PM on Monday, April 14.
This year we are asking that chapters sponsor the cost for at least one
member to participate in the Columbus Seminar. This means that each chapter
should plan to cover the cost of travel, food, and lodging for at least one
member. Of course this does not mean that you can only send one member. We
want a good turn-out for this event, and we are going to assist financially
where needed, but the affiliate cannot bear the full burden of this event.
We will be communicating more information about logistics and other details
in a variety of ways over the next several weeks, but for now we want to get
the who, what, where, when, and why out as soon as possible. The who is you
and your members. The what is the Columbus Seminar discussing the issues
listed above. The where is the Plaza Hotel Columbus at Capitol Square. The
when is the afternoon April 14 through the afternoon of April 15. The why is
because the blind of Ohio are counting on us to change the future of what it
means to be blind and DeafBlind in this state. Please don't make
reservations with the hotel until we ask you to do so. If you have questions
about this information, please contact me directly. You will receive more
information very soon, and I look forward to working with all of you.

The National Federation of the Blind advances the lives of its members and
all blind people in the United States. We know that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. Our collective power, determination,
and diversity achieve the aspirations of all blind people.
