Dear Kelsey,

I try to use the NFB cane, and the weather did not cause me any problems.

I am Shure the colder weather could be an issue but probably not enough that it should keep you from traveling.

We have others on this list that can provide you with different perspectives.

Subject: [Ohio-Talk] Tips on cane use during extreme cold

Hello,
I have a question for you all. I use a folding graphite cane ′Revolution′ as my primary cane, but I also have an NFB cane that I use for outside travel. Given the weather forecast for next week, does anyone know whether the cold will affect the graphite cane in any way? I know when it's really hot and I've been using the cane outside, I have had problems with sticking joints and getting the cane closed, so I was wondering if the extreme cold might have similar effects or if the temperature will damage the cane at all. Do you think it would be better to use the NFB cane in this extreme cold or would that be even worse since that cane is fiberglass and it might break? I have never had to deal with this before, so curious to know what you all think.
