[Ohio-Talk] Senate Finance Committee Notice

Barbara,

This bill is a line item in the Governor’s budget to support the continuation of the Support Service Program for deafblind Ohioans. The funding runs out on June 1. If the line item of one hundred thousand dollars do not pass, the program will fold and those who are deafblind will no longer have support from individuals to help them with shopping, assisting with communicating, and other everyday activities.

We want the Senate to keep it in the budget.

We have information on the Senate Finance Committee testimony opportunities for next Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. 

Written only testimony can be submitted 24 hours before the hearing. I will attach the committee notices for each day.

The Senate operates a little differently than the House. Follow these steps to upload your testimony:

1.      Go to www.ohiosenate.gov <http://www.ohiosenate.gov/>  

2.      At the top of the webpage select Committee, then select Standing and Select Committees, then select Finance Committee

3.      It will take you their webpage

4.      Select Meetings, then click the date you wish to submit your testimony

5.      Once you click the date, it will take you to a different page where you will select upload testimony. Please note that the document will have to be in PDF format.

6.      You will put in your information and then select verbal and written for in-person.

7.      In the special requests box, I recommend including any in-person accommodations you would need like interpreting, extra time, etc.

8.      Then hit submit! 

These instructions are the same for written only testimony as well. Just click written only. Sine you are uploading directly to the website, you will not need a witness slip this time.
