Pat Eschbach
Was a special lady and a true Federationist. She believed in many of us when we didn’t believe in ourselves. I learned so much from her and Bob. I spent many hours in their home and some times on the road with them. I have a lot of great memories with Bob and Pat, and I will share some of them at the memorial service that will likely be this coming summer.
I remember Pat talking about helping designing the dining room kitchen at the National Center for the Blind and how much she enjoyed cooking and being a part of the Thanksgiving there while Bob was on the National Board of Directors.
I love you Pat. Rest in peace!
Eric

> I am sorry to report that Pat Eshbach died this morning. We have no details, but she was waiting to move into assisted living at her senior living facility. Pat was a devoted wife to Ohio Past President Bob Eschbach and a gifted First Lady of the affiliate for eleven years. She was always working to demonstrate to members of the public and blind people ourselves that we could live the lives we wanted. For a number of years she organized and managed the national presidential suite at a time when we provided substantial snacks and hospitality. She was wonderful at setting blind people to work doing things they had no idea they could do. And when she discovered someone who could actually slice bread or make sandwiches, she was eager to put them to work, praising them as she went.

Every day we raise expectations for blind people because low expectations create obstacles between blind people and their dreams. You can live the life you want; blindness is not what holds you back.
