[Ohio-Talk] Convention Reflections and Ongoing Work

Good evening,
Our work remains ongoing, even though I previously requested that people
contact me only after the day had ended. In hindsight, I realize that was
not realistic, as the responsibilities of my role do not end when I leave
the stage. The work continues, and I am fully aware of that fact.

Recently, I received a message regarding the web page, and questions have
started to arise about committees and other related matters. I ask for your
patience as I work on establishing a new method for communicating about
these topics, including committee assignments. This will help ensure that
everyone is informed and engaged as we move forward.

For those of you who ran for office at the convention, I want you to know
that I will be reaching out to you soon. It is important to me that you have
the opportunity to take the lead and contribute in meaningful ways.

In my opinion, this year's convention was another great event. Sometimes,
the most significant moments are not immediately obvious. For example, when
a new person attends the convention, members step up to make them feel more
comfortable. These small acts of kindness and support truly stand out.
I will share more about the convention in the future, but I wanted to
express my gratitude for your contributions. Thank you for playing your
part, and please stay tuned for further updates.

The National Federation of the Blind advances the lives of its members and
all blind people in the United States. We know that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. Our collective power, determination,
and diversity achieve the aspirations of all blind people.
